Recently, the latest global fab forecast report released by the International Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI) shows that global fab equipment spending will rebound from the low in 2019. After a steady recovery in 2020, it is expected to grow substantially in 2021, setting a record for investment. New record.

Although the impact of the new crown pneumonia continues to be fermented, China’s equipment expenditure this year will still increase by about 5% year-on-year to more than 12 billion U.S. dollars. The annual growth rate in 2021 will rise to 22%, reaching 15 billion U.S. dollars. The market investment momentum will mainly come from Samsung and SK. Major manufacturers such as Hynix, SMIC and Yangtze River Storage.

Driven by the investment of TSMC and Micron, Taiwan will become the largest equipment spending market in 2020, with a total of nearly 14 billion U.S. dollars, but it will fall 5% to the third place in 2021, with expenditures exceeding 13 billion U.S. dollars.
